Nic's 5 Minute Chocolate Cake-in-a-Cup

For those of you that haven’t yet come across this delightfully sinful recipe, you have been missing out on one of the best edible treats ever created! The 3-minute Chocolate-Cake-in-a-Cup will take you just 4 minutes to prepare and cook and is the perfect trick to pull out at a party if you’ve forgotten to make dessert or if the kids are nagging for something sweet.

You can eat it as it is or smother it in our Luxury Chocolate Sauce for some added decadence!

Warning: this recipe can be extremely dangerous. It’s so quick, easy and delicious that you’ll just want to eat it every day!

You'll need:
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 tsp dash vanilla
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate chips or chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Prep Time: 1 min (2 if you’re going slow)
Baking Time: 3 min
Total Time: 4-5 mins

  1. Put all ingredients in a large mug and mix well – make sure you scrape along the bottom and the corners for all the dry ingredients.
  2. Microwave on 100% power for 3 minutes.
  3. The cake will rise out of the cup (don’t worry, it shouldn’t spill over). If it looks done 15 or so seconds earlier, take it out.
  4. Smother in The Chocolate Tier’s delicious Luxury Chocolate Sauce (this step is optional but highly recommended!)
  5. Enjoy! Careful – it’s HOT
